CA was the first to ban cougar hunting about 20-25 years ago but then they have failed on getting bear. When they came to WA they put them together and convinced voters to ban it all at once.

Which 2 issues on an initiative is illegal (accept in this issue.)

HSUS is a political machine. People think that it is all about "the animals" but it isn't. We don't need hunters anymore. 20 years ago if you were told you will pay $40 bucks to drive into a State Park you would have told the State to take their park and go F themselves. But now, these days if it keeps us safe from terrorism we will pay whatever we are told to pay.

Once again we all have our own beliefs on what we consider "hunting" or "fair chase" and alot of people's ethics and morales are different as well. To each his own.

Tika... Not sure if you have ever been on a hound hunt, if not I highly suggest you take up one of the offers to do so.

My uncle has run hounds for many years, I was able to go on my first hound hunt for cougar at age 12, probably one of the most physically demanding types of hunting I have been involved with! Trying to keep up with the hounds in snow past ur waste! This particular cat treed within the first 2 miles but bailed right as we got to the tree... Didn't tree after that for close to another 8 miles... We ran several other cats that didn't work out due to kittens timing and such before I was able to notch my tag. Watching the dogs work is the most exhilerating part of the whole show!!

If you have been then I can respect (yet disagree with) your position... IMHO you cannot judge it til you've done it!! Give it a shot!!

I have done it twice. Not gonna lie it was fun I just done consider it hunting or fair chase. I've actually picked up a hound at the pound once. She was pretty sick got her healthy and gave her away to a hound hunter I know. Not sure if she ended up being a good hunter or not for him. I'm glad we agree to disagree. What I classify as hunting is different what you guys do. I just don't understand why u can't see that. Doesn't mean I'm an anti or don't support that right. Some on here act as if your the anti Christ if I don't agree with them pretty funny or they think I know nothing about when indeed I may know more than them ;)

I think its your choice of words that are the hand grenade.  :twocents:   If your not an Anti, but don't want to hunt that way, a different way of saying it would work better.. I prefer to hunt.... Its more challenging to hunt...   There are lots of guys that hunt with stick bows..  :bash:  I like my wheel bow but wonder why they do it, a wheel bow is hard enough... Don't mean i really care if they do it that way, or even use a spear.  :dunno:
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
