remington 1917 30/06 rifle value
« on: May 23, 2012, 02:45:16 AM »
i have some stuff for trade, and i got an offer on my 750$ fish finder

there is a guy out there that wants to trade me a remington 1917 enfield action 30/06 (circa 1965) with 3x-9x (no lense size) bushnell scope and sling. the stock seems to be monte carlo style with beaver tail on the pistol grip, however, there is zero checkering on the stock(which tells me that its nothing special)... the stock itself doesnt strike me as something that is run-of-the mill from the factory, but the fact that the action was mass produced for military action, and from what gunbroker was listing these as, im not seeing much more than 350 bucks given the fact that i can see obvious rust and tarnish on the bluing and the metal looks neglected...

i was wondering what you guys would value a rifle like this as

catch it. kill it. cook it. eat it.
Forget the bear spray, use wasp killer. Concentrated delivery stream, 10X the product, and only $3.00 on sale.

I smoke two fish in the morning, I smoke two fish at night, I smoke two fish in de afternoon makes me feel alright

$350 is a cabelas price. $150-250 is the street price. This one sounds to be the lower end of that. There is nothing wrong with them, if you like heavy, cock on closing rifles they can be shooters.

I would say pay no more than $350.  I got a similar one for $300 2 years ago.
