Hunting partner fell asleep
« on: September 13, 2012, 07:13:13 AM »
This was taken during a calling session yesterday afternoon. We had just been calling for about 30 minutes and decided to wait on our spot for a little bit, 5 minutes later I hear some heavy breathing and look over and he's asleep face down on his rifle. He thought the picture was hilarious and I know he'll see it on here later today.

Just as well--that big red face would have scared the game away anyway... :chuckle:  :chuckle:
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

Awesome. That is one for the wall of shame. Been there and done it, will do it again.

Isn't that the whole point of hunting? To go outside and sleep under a tree somewhere.
Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your character is who you actually are while your reputation is merely who others think you are.

It's amazing how heavy your eyelids can get when you try to stay alert!  :chuckle:

I've been caught in that EXACT pose before.  I brushed it off and claimed I was making meticulous adjustments to my scope to account for wind and elevation.

Heck that is a big part of my hunting plan when I go.
That is how I killed my first turkey. Sound asleep, woke up and was surrounded by a flock of fall birds.
I snore too much now to make it a very effective hunting style  :chuckle:

I'm convinced ..... thoroughly convinced ..... that snoring is hands down one of the best go to calls when things are slow in the turkey woods.  It's worked for me more times than I'd like to admit

Hmmmm. Whatever happened to hunting partner confidentiality?    :chuckle:
Only reportable if the game walked across his legs.

I'd say his only error was in snoring.
Old enough to know better.
Young enough to go for it.
