Successful Hunt (odd colored rooster?)
« on: November 04, 2012, 09:18:36 PM »
So last wednesday, my dad and I went out to chase some wild pheasants. We ended up getting one each. Mine had normal colors, but my dads was really light colored for some reason. As you can see in the pic, his doesn't have any of the redish colored feathers on its chest. Its back and tail feathers were light brown colored just like the chest is. Can anyone explain this? Is it just a juvenile bird or what?

Young rooster.
Tons of them out this year.
Second clutch birds.
I pulled up on a couple because I could not positively identify them as roosters.
Length of tail is an indicator.
