Heading out
« on: November 22, 2012, 09:38:31 PM »
Well, my hunting buddy had some problems getting out during the season but it is for good reason. His wife has complications with their child so hopefully it ends well and the baby is okay.

Going to head out to a new area for me in the a.m. the 437. Haven't had time to scout it which leaves me with mixed feelings. Going to try that for Friday and Saturday then volunteering for the Seattle Marathon on Sunday. Then Monday through Wednesday is going to be spent down in the Winston unit.

Don't think elk is going to happen my first year but still learning a ton. Thanks everyone for the good advice and for being so willing to offer up tidbits. Learned a ton and hope to keep this sport alive for many years to come.

Hope to have some good pics and a great story to share soon.

Well walked in at first light and was startled by 4 big does about 70 yards out. They seemed to be startled by me too. Oh well learned something new today. No more bow slings in the field.

Also learned that my rain gear is no good. That was fun in the monsoon.

Heard about 8-9 gun shots go off so assume that some guys are celebrating today. Nice looking land but darn it if I couldn't make it happen. Always next time.
