2nd and 3rd axis leveling
« on: April 18, 2013, 08:40:16 AM »
I am trying to level my sight out (spot-Hogg 5 pin) and I have noticed that all the "pros" do it different.   Bill from nock point told me to hang it from a string by the cam and check your level.... Other guys say to check it at full draw with a level on the side of your riser ?   What have you guys found to be the easiest way to set this up?

Look it up on YouTube probably a ton of videos.  Or send an email to spot hogg and ask them you'll get a Reply back the same day.

2nd axis can be easily be done by holding your bow limbs against a door jam(known to be plumb). I use electrical tape under the sight to shim it whichever way it needs to go so the sight level matches the bow when held against the jam.
Nuts & Bolts has a very good 3rd axis explaination on Archery Talk.

I shoot a group at twenty yards to settle in then shoot all my pins at five yards and look for a strait vertical line . pretty simple if there in line your good to go plus it checks it at full draw in your hand , real life ussage
