first time ever i think i am missing opening day.
my wife has been sick all night and still is today, so i have to stay home and take care of our 1 year old daughter.
i will be out tomorrow and FWIW am having a fun day playing with the little one.
hope you all are notching your tags on some great deer today.

hope your wife gets better soon.
I'm sitting by the phone waiting for my wife to call me saying she shot her first deer

thanks, bud. i'm waiting for an update from e-wa too. the boys left the house this morning and when the sun came up my mother in law said there was 20something deer in the ffront yard. sounds like the guys should have just sat on the porch.
we'll be over there next weekend.

First opening day i've missed in quite a few years, but we did the next best thing and went to the range and shot the rifles some more. Took me a while to find the target with my 06, hasn't been shot for 20 years since I picked up the bow. But it's dialed in now, might still use my boys .243WSM instead though, less meat damage.
Hope your wife is feeling better, the crud is going around.

The only times I've missed the opener is I was hunting with a diferent weapon, or had a late tag. But it still feels funny.
I hit the opener today, but I've got to tell ya, it was way over rated. Too many hunters, and a lack of deer made for a frustrating morning. Even though I hunt private land exclusively around here, there's still too many people.
