A FEW MORE PICKS FROM DOUGLAS MOOSE HUNT
« on: December 04, 2015, 04:18:19 PM »
Happy Friday

A few more pics from the hunt....

The meat is at the Olson's Meats, and I'm getting some quotes for a euro mount.

Finally coming back down to earth after this great experience.

Enjoy!!

You guys had your work cut out for you. Those are big dudes once they hit the ground, and you really notice it when moving them and parting them out.  I had one hind quarter on mine this year that still had about 18" of backbone with backstrap attached to it, that was nearly too heavy to lift by two people.  I doubt neither one of us could have packed it out, but fortunately I drug mine up to the road with a rope to butcher it.  I'm sure those of you that had to pack them very far got a good workout.

I've hunted moose back in NH. Those guys get even bigger than the Shiras. It's like walking up to a car on the ground.
