Squid Fishing
« on: July 20, 2017, 11:04:58 AM »
Hello Everyone,

This is my first post. I am looking to see what kind of squid fishing results people have gotten around the puget sound. Specifically in the Bellingham area. I would love to give it a try but am in need of some guidance. I've ready pretty much everything on the interwebs about how its done, just need some input on when and where.

No squid fishing in the Bellingham area that I'm aware of.

Boulevard Park Pier (Bellingham) ... From late May until February, adult squid can be found in almost all waters of the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Puget

Have not heard of any caught yet.  Last year I caught almost all of mine from a boat during the day.  Live by a Pier but it can get crowded at night.

Never heard of such a thing, any more tips?  I have seen them scuba diving, but it is on or near a huge egg cluster and I wouldn't have the first clue on where to go with a boat to try to catch one.

Better later in the season for day squid I think.  They run at about 50-80 feet.  If there deeper than that, not worth targeting.
Caught 6 off the Pier last night.
