I don't have the Savage, but I have a .300 WM.

I found an accurate load with 200 gr Eld-X.  I'm just over Alliant's load data using RL-26 and I'm getting 2,960 fps with my 26" barrel.  Their book max is listed at 74.0 gr and I'm at 75.0 gr but loaded quite a bit longer than their test.

H1000 has always been good too.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

My uncle, who does our reloading, uses H1000 for their loads, so i think i will start with that powder.
