Stolen Tree Stand in Colockum
« on: September 06, 2019, 01:22:18 PM »
Just wanted to put this out there...

My hunting partner's tree stand was taken from his tree up in the Colockum.  This man taught me how to bow hunt... He, his son, and I have had great success.  He still gets after it at almost 70yrs old and enjoys sitting his tree stand for Elk.  It wasnt located close to a road and has been in hung in this tree for many years.  This stand was so old that it had survived a fire and the seat was totally worn which was replaced with a red boat cushion.

Yes, I know that a red boat cushion may not be the most stealthy seat for a treestand but the elk never seemed bothered by it.  I guess this is the world we live in??

To the people responsible for this I hope you're proud and I hope read this.  We have hung a new stand in the same location and only ask that you leave it alone.  We don't feel that this is "Our" spot as it is on public land and we always talk and are friendly to the other hunters we see working through the area.  I just ask that you leave our stands alone.

Have a great hunt this weekend Im sure we'll run into eachother

This is why I leave other people's stuff alone even if it appears abandoned, because it might not be.

Fricking low life slugs; there's nothing worse than a thief!  Good on you Wunder for hooking your old friend up with a new perch; I hope it stays where you put it.  Best of luck to you and your crew during the up-coming hunts; stay safe and shoot straight!

:yeah: The people responsible knew it wasn't abandoned they just took the stand and left boat cushion hanging in the tree as to rub it in or something.  Some peoples children is all I can say.

Some people just plain suck, sorry to hear about that.  I'm heading up there tomorrow to hopefully pull a couple of cameras, if they're still there.
