Shotgun Smith in Tacoma Area?
« on: October 21, 2020, 09:44:38 AM »
Hello, this may be a bit of a longshot, but I'm looking for contact info for a gunsmith I used several years ago in the Tacoma area. This was in the early 2000's and the guy did shotgun gunsmithing out of his home. I'm embarrassed that I can't remember his name, it might have been "Mike" something, but it's been a long time. The guy came very highly recommended by a dog trainer I knew as a really good shotgun guy. He extended the chamber and opened the choke on an ancient short-chambered 16ga Model 12 for me, and did an excellent job. He worked out of his home, but his operation was very professional. Anyway, I have another short-chambered 16ga Model 12 I'd like to have the same thing done to and I'm looking for this guy. If this smith rings a bell and you have his contact info could you please respond here? Or shoot me a PM? Or, maybe you know of another way I could search for him?

Thank you,
Cliff

Mike Nelson, don’t have a contact number. If you can make it out to Tacoma Sportsman’s the old timers can fill you in. Open today and Friday morning, check with the shotgun guys on the left side of the building.

That's him! Thanks Wadu1. Now that I have his name I'm sure I should be able to find contact info if he is still in business. I appreciate your help.

I pm'd you the last contact number I have for him. It's been a while so it may not be current, but worth a shot.
