Garrison Rd. klickitat Co.
« on: October 22, 2020, 09:29:52 PM »
Just wondering if anyone has been successful hunting off Garrison rd. in klickitat co. Been hunting there and deer seem non existent! I know of one nice buck taken. Used to be good hunting grounds!

I haven't been up that road in years. It got to crowded at the gate with to many crazy people at their camp walking around with shotguns shooting at squirrels about 5-6 years ago, I stopped going back ever sense. Though we always did see deer when we went, i did notice they were starting to get a few and far between though

Deer populations in Klickitat County beyond non existent.  How wdfw can still justify doe harvest is anyone's guess and down right offensive. Pretty sad that I see more elk than deer in those woods.

I've been hunting near there the past couple of years. Saw more hunters than deer while hunting. I heard there was a nice buck hiding in downtown Goldendale, and heard shots while up there. But no luck for our group.
Going to reevaluate our plans next year.

Hey Karl, should improve in a few years with Krupps and SDS closing several square miles of access adjacent to the glenwood game preserve ( no kidding BZ corners to Trout Lake)  .....  :bash:

Unless closing that land somehow kills off all our bears and cougars there won’t be much improvement. They are thick. Bear huntingS been great at least..

Us too. The wife and I have shot 11 bears and 1 cougar in the last 4 years in the area. I love hunting and eating bears but I sure would like a few more deer around.. awesome bear!

Stud bear!
