A lot of closed land these days.
« on: April 13, 2021, 08:57:40 PM »
I just went all over Goldendale,I used to hunt there for turkey a couple years back.It seems a lot of land that was accessible is now private and closed, seems that even the lumber land that i used to access by foot only 2 years ago is now closed. Most of the area around Yakima that hold turkey will still be closed until May.

Anyone have any ideas they would care to share in the Yakima area.

Sorry, can't help with Yakima, but what are you seeing in Goldendale.  I'm assuming you are not talking about farm ground south of town since that has always been a door knock proposition.  Been a few years since I've been there too... At last visit all of the east side of Satus pass down the slide into GD was no admittance - walk in or otherwise.  Don't tell me they have now done that to the west side of 97 too!  If so, that is a hell of gut punch.

I havnt seen any new timber land closures over there unless they are actively logging something. Sds to the west has been closing more and more over the years and gating off everything. But I agree there’s nowhere to hunt down this way.

yes the timber land on west side where it was open to foot traffic now has no trespass signs and the WDFW map in the sign board is no longer in it.

I cant remember the name of that company,I was gonna look up their web site with the permission notice and see what it says now.

There was a large property on the East side my BIL had pretty exclusive access to. He had a friend that convinced the BIL to take him with him there.
No more access after the ‘friend’ peppered their house with shot.
Not as many spots as there used to be. Be careful how you treat them!

Yep. Could be good or bad. I kinda like all the gates going up as long as you can still access by foot. But there’s some closed stuff that doesn’t make sense.

no he’s talking about western pacific timber property that runs along side hwy 97. I saw the no trespassing signs on the gate yesterday. Not sure what that was all about but there are lots of other ways to access that property.

few of those WP chunks along 97 sold. Thats why those yellow gates are now green.

No offense intended unless you are accessing the posted property by somewhere other than a gate and if you are you are the reason the lands are getting closed. No Trespassing means the entire parcel of land not just the gate and drive/road into the property.
