Not from the area so don’t really have time to scout but just wondering how far up the klickitat river you can find birds?

8.534978 miles on the dot. if you go 77 or 79 your in the wrong spot.

You can find them all the way to the res boundary,  ~40 miles.  Steep country.  Soda Springs Wildlife area is a big place that might be a good place to start for someone new to the area.

Thanks.. MR5x5..would like to find a spot away from the crowds if possible.. I guess I will just try to find a spot and go exploring

Soda springs will have been hit pretty hard by now.

I would work some rougher areas and look for sign.

Lots of private. Use onx. A spot that is away frim crowds won't exist. Riad systems are all through the area. Those road systems are where the birds are. You go to an area with no road you probably womt find birds

95% of the joy of hunting is exploring the land.  There are birds east and west of the Klickitat River.  I only hunt public land, or Feel Free to Hunt land, and was able to shoot a bird the second day of the season.
