To go or not to go.
« on: November 26, 2021, 03:00:04 PM »
I pushed hard for muleys and never did much whitetail this fall.  Part of me wants to try, but the rest of me is done pushing.  After a 7 day  stretch at work, coffee and feet up almost sounds better than drive mud, rain, winch, drive some more, may or may not get a shot. Lol :chuckle:

day off sounds pretty nice! But you definitely will not get a shot sitting on your couch.😂😂

If your more tired mentally than physically I'd say take a break for the day tomorrow and go Sunday.

It seems like a pretty silly question to ask really.   Two portions of my brain battling, the one with images of monsters I have missed filming and I know potentially I could see, and the other that would enjoy being home safe and sound with a good cup of coffee and an extra 200 dollars in my pocket.  Lol

I wonder how active they really are.  My timing is off and when I left work today it was 65.  Not real rut weather.

Things seem to be tailing off now.  Only seeing smaller bucks, suddenly.  It peaked around the 23rd and 24th near Wauconda by my observations.  Could be the weather.  Still some smaller bucks moving in my area, but the big ones that were out in broad daylight went underground.   :twocents:

Thanks Smokepole, that’s exactly what I was concerned about.   I figured that’s about what the timing was.

Kiddo and I took a drive through farm country in the blues foothills last night looking for deer. 3:30-4:00pm kinda prime time ish. Saw 3 whitetail does. Zero bucks. Normally we see 20-30 in that drive.

Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

I thought maybe downing a bottle of Jack might help.

I didn’t go this morning.  Of course as we approach “shooting light” I wish I had. Lol.    If I leave now I could get the evening hunt in.  :chuckle:
