Antelope hunt info

Howdy
Thinking about taking daughters on a antelope hunt and looking for any info from those of you who have gone and wouldn’t mind sharing which state would be best or if any have otc tags
Should I be looking for landowner tags?
Access permits?
Archery or modern just looking to change things up from Washington

Antelope hunting is a blast.   A lot to learn about those animals and you will have many opportunities each day.  Have only hunted in Wyoming and they do not have OTC tags even for residents.

  with a point or two though, there are many units you can draw in WY. It might take a year or two of applying to draw, but it's a lot of fun.

I have hunted wyoming once for does and there was no shortage of antelope where we were. We essentially hunted 2.5 days and got 8 antelope (4 people 2 does each). I hunted Montana 12 years in a row for bucks and does. Both places were a blast. I love hunting antelope and they taste awesome.  I believe most states are draw for antelope. Just be careful once you go you will be hooked.

October was the deadline to buy a preference point for next years draw in Wyoming. Buck hunting requires preference points and all the units in the western units with all the public land take many. Doe tags can be had without pp but the competition for those has increased a lot the last few years. Check the Wyoming F&G site to see tag numbers & draw odds for every unit on bucks & does to find somewhere to start. The eastern units will give you opportunity if you’re willing to hunt checkerboard or pay a trespass fee. I’ll echo others opinions on antelope hunting being some of the most enjoyable you can have. Tagging, going to try to get over to Wyoming for it this year. Have two points, just starting the research myself.

Up to 4 pp in wyo now for antelope and just started poking around on GoHunt to see what options I have. Pretty helpful tool although I think Wyoming is one of the easier ones to predict draw odds if I remember right. Seems like wyo has lots of opportunity.

You will have to look in the eastern units with limited public land with only 4 points buck rub. We lost out to point creep in a middle of the road unit out west this year with 8 points. Speed goat hunting in Wyoming has gotten super popular the last few years unfortunately.

Wonder if I bite the bullet and apply for special if that’ll give me some more options. Eastern Wyo is a long drive for a little speed goat

Wyoming is considering some rather significant price increases for non-residents.

The draft bill calls for an increase for nonresident elk licenses from $576 to $1,258, nonresident deer license from $288 to $826 and nonresident antelope licenses from $288 to $874.
