Don't throw away those feathers
« on: September 08, 2024, 12:11:28 PM »

Hello Bird Hunters,
If you are a bird hunter, don't throw away those tail feathers and even those neck/hackle feathers.
The Washington State Trappers Association have their Annual Fur Sale (I believe it is March 1st, 2025) and a lot of Crafters have been attending.
More of them every year looking for fur, skulls and even feather to use in the crafts.
They're looking for feathers such as: pheasant, grouse, turkey, etc. for their crafts.

So if you're going to throw them away, bring them to the WSTA Fur Sale or ship them to the association and they will sell them for you, we can furnish you an address.

Every penny made on your hunting (not even knowing that you could sell this stuff) will get you another tank of gas for your next hunting trip.

Keep checking on the Trappers link here in Hunt WA for Fur Sales and other events updates.
Happy Hunting

Well, Trap, just how do we get all the feathers to you guys? If we pluck our birds and bag the feathers, what's the process to ship them to you?

Just pointing people to the trapper's thread might not accomplish anythng.

Dont try to sell any waterfowl feathers! It was made illegal under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, but game bird species like pheasants, turkeys, quail and grouse are good to go.

Correct no waterfowl feathers.
All other like pheasant, turkey will work and sell.

As we get closer to the sale date, I'll post here a place to send them if that is what you want or where you can drop them off.
