I need to buy 10 bobcats
« on: December 12, 2024, 12:23:17 AM »
I want a large but it doesn't have to be huge, just your average fully adult male bobcat. I want W WA cats, those red cats, casty bellies that don't go well on the fur market. I will pay $80.
These cats are going into the taxidermy market so they can't be damaged, rubbed or short nap fur.
Case skinned, leave the feet on and don't split the fur past the heel. Leave me a little of the leg above that and I will skin. Front feet same deal, leave me some foreleg, I will skin. Head: ear butts cut close to the head, all the lips but don't have to be turned and plenty of nose. The eyes have to be carefully skinned so as not to damage them around the eye. Tail bone needs to be stripped but do not split the tail. no fleshing, just put in the freezer tightly bagged. Taxidermy skinned but you don't have to do the hard stuff.
If you are interested PM me. I would plan on picking up at the Winter Rendezvous.

Bruce, you might want to think about buying them on the carcass this way you can skin them and make no mistake.
Someone might have good attention but when they start cutting, they might make a mistake and then not sell it to you at all.
Then you would be out of a chance to get that cat.

I was also going to ask if you'd be interested in buying them frozen whole.  I've got one or two bobcats occasionally showing up on my game cameras. I'm hoping to cross paths with them soon.

I might be willing to sell you one if I get one.  But I'd be concerned about damaging the pelt for you if I do a partial skinning of it myself like you asked for in the first post.

With having to turn the lower jaw in to get them CITES tagged I don't think frozen whole will work. Yea, I know there is a way to get them CITES tagged and turn the jaw in later after someone else skins it for you. Not going to do that. Too much chance for problems.
You remove the jaw, get them CITES tagged and then I will buy them.

I'm having no problems over here dealing with WDFW with trappers getting their carcass sealed then bringing it to me to sell.   I separate the jaw, tag it with all the trapper's info and drop it in salt.    April fool's day they all get a call/text from me saying pick up your jaw.
