How would that be any different?Buck to doe ratio comes to mind. Heck of a lot more does out there than bucks. I always see guys talking about the need to increase the ratio but have a hard time passing the little guy. My original comment was more of a joke than anything. Hunting the eastern side of the state being mostly 3pt and better. Most of the time anything 2pt and smaller doesn’t get much of a look around here.

Last day of late muzzy blacktail season years ago... Any deer was legal in the GMU... I was in my mid 20's... It was about 3pm... Dad was driving up to at gate on a logging road... A doe popped out on the road and started feeding on the edge about 50 yards away... I wasn't ready at all... I got out and hustled around to the back of the truck... Got the muzzy and capped it... Walked up to the front of the truck and she was still there... Slightly angled broadside on her right... I leveled off on her and dropped her... I'm reloading and my Dad gets out laughing... I can't figure it out... He doesn't say anything just chuckling to himself... I walked up and it kept getting smaller... I get up to it and pick it up by both back legs with one hand... It was a buck fawn... I was puzzled!!! I felt a little bad... My Dad starts laughing while telling me that while I walked back to get the muzzy and cap up, a fawn came out and started feeding with the doe, and then the doe looked up and saw the truck and maybe me, then walked back into the brush... I hold the smallest deer in the family record... It was the best 17# of boneless meat I've ever had... Learned a lesson that day...

The first bear I ever shot I was with a buddy and we were on opposite sides of this draw with a big thicket down the middle. This bear popped out and woofed at me. I brought the gun up and dropped it right there. My buddy yells "what did you shoot?" I said "a big damn bear" At thirty yards that thing looked huge when it woofed at me on its hind legs. I field dressed it and threw it over my shoulder and hiked back UP to the truck. I think I got about 27# of meat off of it..
