Ok galpster, I'm not stubborn enough to say I need to go out and shoot some more, I realize I need to correct that, BUT don't sit there and tell me not to pick up a firearm, like I said, I'm 14-15 now, and I'm sure a lot of guys would take that for a lifetime! Hell I'm only 27, don't start barkin orders when I bet you have missed too! 1 time or 30 its principle if u really wanna look at it, so calm down

Sorry for the post. I think the tone of it got away from me. I have never missed an animal 5 times. NEVER!! I have missed, everyone has missed but after the 2nd or third chot I know something is wrong and have to really question my rifle, scope or my abilities. I have never had the opportunity to shoot at an animal 5 times. I have shot three times and the third one counted. It was a wind issue in Montana shooting over a canyon at 400 yds.
All I am trying to say is practice and get a good picture when u miss. Calm down, what is the wind doing, am I jerking the trigger. Thats all and sorry for the tone of my last post. I try to bring people up not tear them down.

Again just work on the fundamentals of shooting. It all comes into play when the monster is standing in front of you!!!!

Ya I thought about lying, but then I realized how much I laugh when I read some of the claims and stories I read on here, and I decided to keep it real cuz that's all I know

I missed a buck last year, and my uncles advise or support was "As much as you tell yourself you will forget about it, you never will, you will think about that buck the rest of your life."  But once you shoot your next animal, the feelings go away.

Uncle told me the same thing after my first year hunting and shot and missed at a couple of deer, just had the nerves going full bore.

BS, I don't think so. If you ever get to hunt Montana you will see that alot of shots are 400 yards. Ask anyone who has hunting the highlands by Butte Montana. I was raised there and many shots at that range.

I also do not call out people unless it is necessary to do so. If I offend someone from shooting 5 shots and not knowing what is wrong then that is his problem.

And if you look at my posts they are not calling people out. I think you are just trying to stand up for your freind here. I have meet people here and hunted with them so my reputation is not in question.

your telling me you missed twice with the wind blowing but were able to correct at 400 yds in the wind? funny. I could careless how reputable you are or where you hunt.

By the way you started defending yourself i really think you are BS'n. If you call out a reputable guy they usually don't even respond.
I have meet people here and hunted with them so my reputation is not in question.
So what you are trying to say from here is that if you hunt with people on here your "reputation" is justified...give me a break lol.

Ask anyone who has hunting the highlands by Butte Montana. I was raised there and many shots at that range.

So you were raised there and you've shot "many times" at the range...who the heck cares? That has nothing to do with me questioning your ability to shoot 400 yds in the wind.
Ruger brought back the .220, i just shoot it.

Bone I didn't hit the animal, I went and checked right after, and again a couple days later, and I never said it was a joke???? As I stated before, I've shot a few deer, I know what I'm doin, I just didn't get it done this time, trust me I feel bad I missed, but I also realize that if missing a deer is a problem of mine, then my life isn't all that bad, I don't care if galpster has made that 400 yd shot, its possible, I'm not gonna be like everybody else on this board and tell people when to shoot, everybody wants to always tell others what to do or when to shoot or scold them like they're their damn fathers, give me a break, who are we to tell somebody when to shoot? Anyway, I know how to correct it, but you know what? I'm young and I can promise you ill miss again in my lifetime, that's actually part of the fun now that I think about it, its made me even more motivated
