that and just think if one of those babies got a hold of the goods when you were busy splashing around in the water for them. No thanks...I'd do the set lines and a big cleaver or do like a buddy in Kansas does. He has an old 22 that he uses after hauling them ashore. Lets them bite down in the front of the barrel and then he shoots!
Good eating though from what I'm told.

i have a funny story about snapping turtles. my fiance and i were in jacksonville florida visiting family, we went out to the outback steak house and ate, when we left my fiance jessica noticed a bunchof baby ducks in this retention pound next to the parking lot so of course we had to go look... we found a duckling that was byitself with no apparent families near by so jess picks this duckling up, well after unsucessfuly trying to reintroduce this duckling into a number of duck families she decides to let it go, hope it would find its family itself. no sooner had i turned to walk away i heard her and her little sister scream. i turned back in time to see a huge snapper pulling this baby duckling under. this turtles head had to be the size of a wopper from burgerking. well that was the end of a good day. jess and megan were tramatized. i thought it was funny though.
