« on: June 07, 2010, 03:47:48 PM »
Anybody running the 140 suzuki fourstroke? It probably wouldnt be my first choice but I have an opportunity to put one on the new boat for a smokin deal... like almost 4 grand less than a 150 yami or etec which were my first two choices? any opinions of them?

Although I am a Yamaha fan, I will say that those I know who've got the 140 4 stroke Suzuki's have been impressed.  No complaints yet and at the price difference you referred to, why not.  All major brand outboards these days are well built, and if taken care of, should last many many years. :twocents:

Most of the new suzuki's come with a six year waranty.  My old boss had one on a 21' arima and he loved it.
If it aint broke, dont fix it.

Suzukis are some of the best engines on the market. The 140 is bulletproof.

What boat are you putting it on?

It may be a smoking deal, but going smaller than you want because its cheaper may not be the best option in the long run.
