LATE SEASON M/L
« on: April 11, 2008, 03:36:41 PM »
Does anyone have any suggestions for late season M/L.  I have never hunted with a M/L or hunted this season.  I'm open to east and west GMU's.  Just need a little guideance so I can start studing the maps I brought out with me.

Haze gray and underway.  1 month down and 6 to go...

thanks guys.

Well I had a longer message typed up but I'm having computer problems and lost it.  :bash:

So I'll make it a bit shorter this time. Eastern Wa. is out if you want to hunt elk in the late season, because there isn't any. That helps to narrow it down a bit. There aren't a lot of units open on the westside either, and of the ones that are none of them really stand out as being really good (at least to me.)  There are some that I would steer you away from, mosty because of limited access due to private land (there may be public land in the unit or private land open to the public, but the elk aren't there, at least in any large numbers.) These would be 454, 564, 666, 684, and 504. Hope this helps some.

Selkirk unit 113 has some nice bucks in it, gets hit pretty hard first weekend of ML. 139 Steptoe is good, but finding acess is tought, its open for WT 3pt min. Cheney 130 is open for WT ,Elk and mulie doe, but acess is a problem as well. There is some state land out there that holds a few bucks. If your serious about it you might want to start getting permission. Hope this helps.
