Great Openner
« on: October 15, 2011, 08:19:06 PM »
Missed the last three openners due to out of state upland hunts.  This year we're leaving this coming thursday so I decided to get in a day on the water.  I hunted 15 straight openners befor heading east for upland birds.  Went to an old favorite spot and had the best openner.  I've never seen so many birds this early, Teal, Mallards, Widgeon and Pintails plus Specks, Canadas, Duskys and my first ever flock of Snow in the area.

After breaking on the first three flocks of ducks to work the decoys Troopy(GWP) settled down and did a great job, never had to leave the blind.

Great openner, looking forward to November, have the last three weeks to hunt the coast as much as I want till I leave for coyotes , ducks and upland on the east side in Dec and back to the coast for Jan..  Great being retired.
