Private property
« on: January 20, 2012, 11:02:13 AM »
There is a old  flooded gravel pit back behind my house in the middle of a field there are no private property signs posted and there are always about 100 malards back there. Does any one know how I can figure out who owns the property to ask them for permission to hunt there?

Go to your local county assessors webpage.  Most of them have a interactive parcel map.  If it is your neighbor you could look up your parcel number and then find the adjacent property.

No his property is down by Vantage.

But your 13 and do not listen to the old cogers on here.  Ask your Dad where the assessors office is and have him visit it with you.  Find the own of that parcil and give them a call.  If they give you permission you should get it in writing if you can.  So if others are hunting it they cannot kick you off.  WHen you go on it.  Have the local sheiff and police on  your cell so you can give them a jingle.

Old people are be real sons of guns and they will lie their butts off to keep some snotty nose kid off their hunting area.  If they get pushy with you just dial up the police and let them settle the score.

You can also get all the info on the net, I have a county website bookmarked that I use. It gives the owners name and also purchase price when they bought it. Don't care about the price part, just the name. Let me know what county you are in and I can find the website and email you the link then you can look it up.
