I'm pretty sure it is illegal to take dead heads in Washington...

:bdid: Yes it is!! I would take that pic down before the Internet Police turn you in.
Very nice find by the way :) It's to bad this state doesn't let us pick up dead heads :dunno:

He probably found it while fall turkey hunting, and I'm sure he put his deer tag on it

To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Just put an old deer tag on it, not everything has to be mounted. I don't know too many people that leave dead heads in the woods, I found a huge one (elk) in the watershed (blues) this last elk season- that was the only dead head I've left in the woods. If any of you guys hunt in there in the very near future you might find it towards the bottom of a ridge propped up on a tree. It scored around 340. Killed me to leave it but I didn't want to mess up my buddies hunt. I would just modify your wording, nice deer though. I found one just like that in Idaho a few years ago...

Accually, you don't even need a tag for it. The tag goes on the freezer with the meat and if the meat is all gone, then you don't have to keep any tag.
