Dead Bobcat Remains
« on: March 07, 2018, 10:31:49 AM »

I went out yesterday to check some beaver traps I have out.
Last week when I was out there I could smell something that was dead.  I looked around but I didn't see anything.
Went out thee days ago and could still smell this faith smell of something dead somewhere, didn't look for it.
Yesterday I went back and still could smell this dead smell, so I started looking a little harder and yep found it.
I see this white patch of fur over in the brush close to the creek I'm in thinking it was a rabbit, so I took a close look and it turned out to be a bobcat.
No body, left just a few pieces of fur.
The area where it was is heavy brush with about a three to four foot circle.
I've seen a lot of animal kills in my Business and I'm thinking it was killed by another bobcat.
I trapped a bobcat years ago that turned out to be a lactating female bobcat that killed a female lactating house cat. (Territorial issue I believe)
I'm thinking this was a young cat and a Big Tom killed it.
In the picture you can see the remains of what was a bobcat.
