what size cable for pulling firewood?

It's that time of the year again, and I'm tired of passing up wood that I cant fall within '50 from the road. What size of cable are you guys using?

5/16" will stop a 1 ton Dodge cold in its tracks. I've got a couple that are 200' that work great. Make sure that you get a quick open snatch block and a pinch puller that allows you to pull from anywhere on the cable and not just on the end.
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!

You'd be surprised what an anchor point, some 3/4" cable, quick open snatch block, and a 72 Chev K-20 can drag out by the roots. Cleared 2 acres that way
