I have been following this post since I joined this forum. I was shopping for a new bow and had Mathews as the one I wanted. Rainier Archery carried them. So after reading this I was a little apprehensive.  But I just figured I would have to see for myself. I spent about 2 hours in their shop Friday and another 2 hours today. Being in there and knowing what has been said in these posts, gave me something to observe while they were getting my Bow ready. I will tell you from my experience and observation, that I was very impressed. This being 2 days before opening Deer season,it was busy as heck in there. All the customers that came into the store were taken care of as soon as possible in a friendly manner. As for myself, my DXT is shooting Awesome, after being setup and tuned by Rainier Archery. I have nothing but positive things to say about the whole staff. I will not hesitate to return for any of my Archery needs.

Congrats on the new bow, you're going to love it. FWIW, Joe has always been very helpful and professional with me as well, I continue to have good service :twocents:

Curious why you didn't try out kitsap archery instead of going all the way over to rainier?  They are closer to your home.  No experience with them, but I've driven by there many times on the way to my uncles.

Glad you're shooting good.  Hopefully it will continue once you put broadheads on.  That is the true test of how good of a job they did.

Curious what they put on your string.  Did you go with a loop or a brass nock?  If the nock.  Did they give your arrow a cushion so it doesn't get pinched?  Did they papertune or just laser tune it?

With you saying they handled everyone exceptionally well.  That raises an eyebrow.  Wonder if he hired new help.

I took my bow to Ranier for a few years.  Then last August I brought my bow to Joe for a tune up, to make sure everything was in good shape and paper tune it.  I shoot an older bow tech patriot with four fletch arrows.  I didnt get the chance to shoot it right away but a couple of weeks later I took it out and it was shooting like hell.  So I brought it back and told Joe how it was shooting.  He obviously didnt remember me because he said it probably needed to be tuned and said "I've never tuned a four fletch patriot before" that was when I about *censored* myself because I know I paid him to tune it.  Needless to say, I have not been back.  Great Northwest has done ok so far.

BullCanyon, I just go there from work which is closer to Rainer Archery, never been to Kitsap, have to check that out, just moved across the Bridge a few weeks ago. To my suprise the DXT is shooting 100 grain Thunderhead broadheads right on target so far.  Rainer did suggest One day to try a shorter broadhead when I get a chance, but since I have been shooting thunderheads most of my bowhunting life I figured I would give them a chance. Already have to re Fletch  a couple of Arrows.  I went with the Loop and don't experience any pinching of the Nock.
They Paper tuned it. Not sure about new employees, but they were at least 4 helping Friday and 3 were there on Saturday. I am no Archery expert by any means but I am in the customer service area myself, and in my experience they did a great Job. The DXT is impressive Bow.

I NEED TO GIVE MY TWO CENTS WORTH HERE.

I HAVE BEEN USING JOE AND ALL HIS EXPERTISE FOR 13 YEARS OR SO NOW. I HAVE HARVESTED 9 ELK WITH THE BOWS THAT HE HAS SOLD ME. IF YOU INCLUDE THE 3 THAT I SHOT AND DIDN'T RECOVER ( TWO OF THOSE SURVIVED ) THAT MAKES 12 ELK SHOT IN 13 YEARS ALL USING BOWS AND ARROWS BOUGHT AND SETUP BY RAINIER ARCHERY.(SEE MASHELL UNIT BULLS IN THE ELK HUNTING FORUM)

SUCCESS SPEAKS VOLUMES ABOUT PRODUCTS AND SERVICE. IF MY EQUIPMENT WAS ALWAYS FALLING APART OR DIDN'T SHOOT BECAUSE IT WAS SETUP IMPROPERLY I PROBABLY WOULDN'T BE AS SUCCESSFUL AS I HAVE BEEN.

MY PERSONAL OPINION ABOUT RAINIER ARCHERY IS THAT THEY ARE A GROUP OF PROFESSIONAL ARCHERS THAT HAVE BEEN DOING IT FOR A LONG LONG TIME. THEY KNOW THEIR STUFF.

SEEMS TO ME THAT ALL THE BAD REPORTS ARE COMING FROM THOSE THAT HAVE EGO PROBLEMS. YOU KNOW THE GUYS THAT ARE GOD'S GIFT TO THE ARCHERY HUNTING WORLD. THE GUYS THAT KNOW IT ALL. THE TYPE OF GUYS THAT INSTANTLY START BLAMING THERE EGUIPMENT OR THE PERSON THAT SET UP THERE EQUIPMENT BECAUSE THEY SHOOT LIKE CRAP.

IF YOU WANT TO BE A BETTER ARCHER THEN JUST SHUT YOUR STUPID MOUTH AND LISTEN TO THE PROFESSIONAL, WATCH THE PROFESSIONAL AND LEARN FROM THE PROFESSIONAL.

WHEN I FIRST STARTED OUT I HAD MYSELF CONVINCED THAT I KNEW HOW TO SHOOT. I WAS YOUNG AND STUPID AND I DIDN'T KNOW JACK *censored*. WHEN I STARTED LISTENING TO JOE'S ADVICE AND STARTED WATCHING WHAT HE WAS DOING DURING MY TUNING SESSIONS I ACTUALLY STARTED TO LEARN AND THEN I REALLY STARTED TO SHOOT WELL. EVERY TIME I WAS HAVING PROBLEMS TUNING IT WAS ALMOST ALWAYS RELATED TO MY SHOOTING FORM. ONCE I STEPED OUTSIDE OF MYSELF AND LOOKED AT WHAT I WAS DOING AND IMITATED WHAT I WAS WATCHING JOE DO, IT ALL CAME TOGETHER.

I HAVE HAD SOME PROBLEMS GETTING MY EQUIPMENT TUNED. I HAVE ALWAYS SHOT HOYT BOWS. SOME OF THE MODELS WERE FINICKY. IN FACT THEY ALL HAVE BEEN. BUT THEY ALWAYS SHOT BULLETS EVENTUALLY. JOE ALWAYS SPENT THE TIME TO GET ME SHOOTING BULLETS. ALWAYS!

NOW, BECAUSE I LISTENED AND LEARNED FROM A TRUE PROFESSIONAL, I AM ABLE TO SHOOT SIX INCH GROUPS AT 100 YARDS WITH MY HOYT HYPERTECH WITH THE RELINE CAM. THAT IS THEIR SPEED BOW FROM 5 YEARS BACK. VERY LOW BRACE HEIGHT. HARD TO SHOOT WELL. THAT'S WHAT YOU CAN DO WHEN YOU LEARN FROM THE PRO'S.

TO SUM IT UP.........THOSE WHO WANT TO KEEP BAD MOUTHING JOE ARE COMPLETELY ENTITLED TO THEIR OPINION. I ON THE OTHER HAND AM GOING TO CONTINUE USING JOE AND BECAUSE OF THAT I THINK I HAVE ANOTHER BUNCH OF SUCCESSFUL HUNTS AND GOOD SHOOTING EQUIPMENT IN MY FUTURE. IF YOU WANT TO BE A SUCCESSFUL ARCHER START USING RAINIER ARCHERY. IF YOU DON'T THEN JUST KEEP COMPLAINING......I WILL GO AHEAD AND SHOOT ALL THE DEER AND ELK THAT YOU COULD BE SHOOTING. SOMETIMES ITS GOOD TO REMIND YOURSELF THAT YOU ARE NOT AS GOOD AS YOU THINK YOU ARE.

I beg to differ that we have to go to Joe just to be successfull......  :bdid: I do all of my own work and I learned from some TRUE professionals and highly recognized archers!  I would say that I am pretty damn successful on my hunts and I have no one to blame but myself if something were to go wrong.  Not trying to start anything on here but I have had some bad experiences with Joe and have seen a lot of equipment come out of there completely back ass words in the way of being set up.  And quite a bit of equipment that has come to the shop I shoot at for me to take a look at and fix and simply tune because it was not done properly! Also the shop gets a lot of equipment from Joe's shop just to fix on its own...

HEY ARCHERY288

IF YOU REALLY ARE ONLY 20 YEARS OLD THEN YOU REALLY DON'T KNOW A FREAKING THING.

ONCE YOU HAVE PUT SOME SERIOUS YEARS OF ARCHERY HUNTING EXPERIENCE BEHIND YOU THEN MAYBE YOUR POSTS WILL ACTUALLY BE WORTH READING.

YOU ARE WET BEHIND THE EARS.

AT YOUR AGE YOU THINK YOU ARE THE BEST THAT HAS EVER WALKED THE FACE OF THE EARTH. IN OTHER WORDS YOU THINK YOU KNOW EVERYTHING.

Maybe I'm wrong but generally at this site the personal attacks don't go over very well. Maybe tone it down a little. :twocents:

My apologies to all for the caps. I usually do everything this way but I wall change for the benefit of all users. Thank you for being patient and understanding.

Maybe some people should stop defaming a perfectly capable and professional shop.

Just because one person has a bad experience with a shop does not mean that everybody will. If you took all the people that have ever used Rainier Archery and then got a percentage of dissatisfied customers I honestly believe that that percentage would be very small.

If Rainier Archery was really as bad as some have made them out to be, then why is Joe selling so many bows? Why is the shop prospering?

You have a valid point about this shop. Maybe some of the reason is that people don't know any better or that other shops do a superior job. He obviously does something right but enough people on here have had bad experiences to maybe think twice about using his shop. :twocents:
