Trijicon Acog?
« on: September 04, 2012, 10:31:43 PM »
Has anyone used an acog to coyote hunt before.  I was looking into one and noticed that the magnifier on it went out to 600 meters and that plenty far enough for me to touch a yote.  I like how much light they bring in compared to all of the other high end scopes. one article that i read online said that the acog brings in 98% of the light through its first lens and out the other where as a mark 4 only does 88%.  this low light will greatly increase my dawn and dusk hunts.  If you have any advice at all i would more than love to hear it...

The one I played with was great.  It was very clear and the reticle didn't have that haze that some optics get so it was great for lowlight.  I think it self adjusted for lighting conditions.  For other regular illuminated scopes I've used, it seems there is reflection on the inside of the tube and also if you don't use the right light setting it starts bouncing around on the optics....I don't remember seeing any of that on the ACOG.  Also, you can get a long picatinny and there is night vision that mates to the front of the ACOG that works great.

the acog are cool ive used them in the military and i have one on my ar15 but if your gonna hunt coyotes i suggest you get at least a 3-9 power scope. ive used mine to shoot coyotes and when they are at 200 plus yards its hard to see them in a 4x scope.
