I knew time with my Dad was at a premium, and I was hoping beyond hope to get an elk and share the pictures and the story of the hunt with him, but Dad had to leave us yesterday. At least I talked to him yesterday at noon. He told me about a coon he had shot the night before for eating stuff in his garden, and how he was getting excited about the Pittsburgh Pirates again, then few hours later he was gone. Love ya DAD!
I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad. My Dad passed away a few years back and I've realized that I carry a piece of him with me everywhere I go. Dads have such an influence on who we are that they are never really that far away in spirit. As I grow older I recognize my Dad in things I say and mannerisms I display and I have to say, once again, thanks Dad for all you were. You will miss him but he will be there in your heart and memories forever, and, you will see him in yourself as you go through your life. I'm thankful that you had the good fortune to have him there as long as you did.
