Not sure why they don't put permanenet firelines in all that country.   Seems like it would save money.

Forest Service said they recorded over 500 lightning strikes last night.  Going to be a real active fire season around here.  :bash:
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

Another round coming tonight, big thunderheads forming. 110 or so today, not the best conditions.

The bad news:  It's going to be triple digits hot for at least a week.  The good news:  The air is drying out, so no more lightning storms can form.  Et:  The Entiat River Valley is a big place--it won't all burn.

ET, I also have the late entiat archery tag, and this fire by no means threatens the unit. There is a small band of timber that runs through potatoe creek, other than that all that can burn is brush. i live in the entiat unit (about 12 miles from the fire) and have no smoke down here. Haven't even seen much in the way of fire fighters running up the valley.

Thanks!  Good luck on your tag, and maybe we will meet up there in the hills this fall.
