Brace height vs axel to axel

Was curious to know which is more forgiving. Short axel to axel example 29" axel with 7 1/2 brace height vs 35" axel to axel with 6" brace height? Just curious thanks

I find that you will always get a more forgiving bow with a longer ata length. That is one reason I love my new anarchy!!! has a long ata and long brace height. Yet the bow still has a ibo of 340fps!!!!! Best of both worlds for me!

7 1/2 or 8 inch brace with an ata of 35 to 37 would be the best all around shoote,  IMHO......I personally would not even consider a hunting bow with less than 7in brace because of layered clothing late season.

Think of it this way.
The most accurate bows are target bows..
The only reason why hunting bows have shorter BH and ATA is because most hunters want 2 things...Speed (hense BHs under 7inches)  and the bow needs to be easy to carry in the woods (hense average ATA length is 32 inches). 

However every single bow Ive put into a hooter shooter has shot far better than I can possibly shoot it. So I just look for bows that blend the best from both worlds. I want bows with 7+" of BH and ATA 32 plus if I can. I figure that give me a little better edge when Im out of breath from the hills, and pumped with adrenaline when that animal has a sight pin on it.

I like longer bows 35 inch ata is my minimum now.  Right now im shooting a vector Turbo that is roughly 35 ata and a 6 inch brace.

I'm with the crowd. 35"+ and 6" bh works great for me.

I just bought the PSE EVO 32.25 ata and a 6'' bh and I must say a very good shooting bow for me.

You are describing the Mathews z7extreme.  Shoot one it is very forgiving.  333ibo is pretty fast and ata is short. Longer bows are great but mathews kinda caught the best of both ends. Longer brace is most important to me.

There's more to the comp than simple numbers...such as limb config - parallel is typically more forgiving. Cam shape - rounder is generally more forgiving.   Release or fingers....  I can tell you that my 320 fps, parallel limb, 34" ata,  release shot, "modern" compound, is much more forgiving than my 230 fps, 45" ata, round wheeled, finger shot, Reflex Caribou.

You really need to shoot them against each other to compare...

I think with the quality of the cams on the newwer bows combined with the wall at full draw make them more forgiving in the axle to axle length.  the smaller the brace hieght the less forgiving they are for hand torque . its all give and take speed makes yardage less critical . for me a 70 lbs bow that will shoot a 420 grain arrow over 300 with a axle to axle of 33 plus is a ideal set up . if I was hunting from a tree stand then a short axle bow would be my pick ( easyier to clear with). I shoot a g5 primal and love it but the new bowtechs are very nice shooters in the 1k market .

My current bow ATA is 38.  I had the short Mathews 32 inch ATA.   That difference is a huge difference.
