Mom did a good job!

is that a large litter for a chessie? a friend was looking for a pup a while back and said he was striking out because many of the litters advertised only had two or three pups to begin with.

Probably average. To many factors to really say but, I'd say 5-9 is an average litter. I'm told(which I know nothing about specifics) smaller litters occur when semen has a low count or, timing of the breeding wasn't exactly on target. This is the reason it pays off to do progesterone testing, vaginal sensitivity(looking for abnormal bacteria counts) and sperm counts on the stud.

I've got a waiting list started for the next litter if I breed her again.... It's a good problem to have!  :chuckle:
