Another great Sekui trip
« on: July 20, 2012, 10:44:22 PM »
Well just got back tonight from another great trip to Sekui.  Yesterday weather was awesome, we got boat limit in a real hurry, I got two good fish right off the bat at daybreak, 1 @ 25lbs and 2nd @ 20+ lbs..  Robodad and a neighbor got theirs shortly afterwards.  Bite died off completely at 0900hrs...  We managed probably 20 fish to the boat, alot again of little guys but almost all Kings...  Water was so good, decided to go for a drive (via boat) to Neah Bay.  Cool to see for sure as I have not been there yet and Robo was a great guide to the location.  Neighbor happened to hook into the biggest star fish I ever seen while jigging in area #4, wish we gotten a picture of it, had to be 2 1/2 foot around...

Today - different story, water was nasty and rough, saw most turn and head for the dock.  We stayed and braved it and ended up bringing four decent sized keepers to the boat.  One keeper decided to commit suicide into my kicker for a fillet and release..  Well almost release, I had to pry him from between prop and skeg...  Oh well they still fillet the same and eat as well...  Just pre-cut.  Again we ended up with around 15 fish or so to the boat and most being little guys...  Friend got his first King and then boarded a decent Silver that would have won the No fin Silver tourney from last year at Olsen's...

Great time with Robo and friends - thumbs up for bringing the RV, awesome!!!!

Great time with Robo and friends - thumbs up for bringing the RV, awesome!!!!

Your welcome, it was a great pleasure, I am glad we brought the RV this time as it was a kind of test to gauge weather its a viable option to do the same thing for a weekend trip or something to the Columbia or over to the east side even for some walleye action and it worked out really well, Sorry you had to cram into that cubby hole of a bunk but it was really nice to have it instead of a motel room !!

I'd sure like to go again when Ron can come, he sure is a great guy and I really enjoy having him along, Thanks again for having me along even though I didn't catch any I still had fun !!!

They must be good luck charms. Talked to my buddy today who took out some guys for Wounded Warriors down here in area 11. They caught five! Four were keepers. He said the un clipped they had to toss back was an honest 35lbs. Said it was one of his best days ever fishing area 11.
