Hello everyone I live in Southwest WA, Longview/Kelso area. I was wondering I have not hunted bear in over ten years never had any success I always found mama's with cubs. My four year old Grandson wants to go bear hunting and I was wondering if anyone knows and would be willing to give me some intell on the best place for Bear in these parts of the woods. Thank you for your time and have a good day..... 8)

C-post.  There aren't even any cubs up there.  It's where the boars all go in the mid to late summer

Since D is up there now I'll chime in. Yep.....lots of boars and very few cubs. Any sows that stray up that way usually get shot then the boars tear up and eat the cubs. So, healthy boars, not so healthy cubs and sows.

Ya know it is a real wonder why people get a bad taste in their mouth right out of the box. Maybe someone could just ask a little more about this guy or even just a general area.
What if his 4 yr old grandson is dying of cancer and this is his one shot at hunting? Or the OP only has a limited time?
Could happen folks.  :twocents:

I live in Castle Rock and I went out today just for a bit. I went up towards ostrander where my dad told me a place where the timber company feeds them dog food on the off season to help prevent them from destroying there tree's, but i didn't see anything beside a lot of bear s**t. :chuckle:

Sounds like a good spot to set a couple trail cams up and see what is there over the next couple weeks.   Between the feeder station there likely since spring and the current sign, sounds like it should be a good spot to hit on opening day.
