Anyone fish the Icicle river up by leavenworth lately? Taking the wife camping up there this weekend and looking for a good spot to fish. Any ideas

Never fished there but this spot may be good. Rock climbers call it "Muscle Beach".

There's a nice granite ledge with a deep pool below, where free-spirited rock climbers back in the 1980's liked to swim in their birthday suits. To get there, travel past the Snow Creek parking lot to a popular beginners rock climbing area (small dome with parking on left, small bluffs directly opposite on right). Keep going to the next smallish slabby cliff on right and park (this is just past a short gravel road that leads to a climber's parking area on the right). I'm unsure of the distance but it's less than 2 miles from Snow Creek. Look for a trail into the brush on the left and hike/scramble down to Muscle Beach. You may wish to stop in town at Der Sportsman's, where there is a rock climbing guide book to Leavenworth. Look up Muscle Beach in the index and find a map. If the fishing is unproductive, at least you've found a nice swimming hole.

There are fish all over that river the last time I was up there.  Lot's of fish, but mostly small ones.  Any little eddy will hold a fish or two most of the time. Most of the federal campgrounds have decent fishing right in them.  There are some better places up higher but I'm not sure if the road is open up that high anymore. Flooding and washouts had some of it closed up high at one point.  Not sure if it's open or not.

Guess I should have clarified.  My info is only in reference to the trout fishing.  I have limited info for you on the salmon if that's what you meant.  I do know people that regularly catch salmon though.
