are there good bucks in metolius? My dad put in for the modern tag and was drawn. He might know more about the area, but I really dont. Good spot?

I hike and fly fish in that area. Some nice bucks in there. not big numbers like in the past but I would very happy to draw that tag. Beautiful country

Hold out for a nice "benchleg". Lots of avg. to nice bucks, only a few real bruisers.  They have blacktail genes.

Metolius unit is where I shot my last buck several years ago. Nice area, I know it well when I used to hunt in Oregon. Try still-hunting some of those horse trails that are next to canyon creek.
