Fish Lake, Leavenworth

Heading over to fish lake tomorrow and I am wondering how the fishing is?  What is working?  Are there crawdads in the lake?

Are there crawdads in the lake?

Almost definitely.

I like to use grubs in that lake, but the good ol' Dick Nite works fine also. Have fun

We did really well trolling wedding bands. with a little piece of worm.  A lot of the trout have a weird parasite on them.  It didn't seam to effect the taste though....we just scaled them and fried them like always.  Taste great and I am still alive. Good Luck

if you are fishing from a boat you will do best trolling slow with a fly.....the fish see power bait, worms, eggs all year long.  While some struggle to get limits I have had success trolling black wooly buggerscatching tons of fish.  If you are looking for a big fish your best bet is to fish right off the docks or anchor up in the bay just off the docks. The owner of the resort raises triploids in a net pen and lets a few go once in awhile. Keeps the big fish photos on the wall so people come back.  i caught a 5 pounder a few years ago....problem is they have white meat that you wouldn't feed to your dog.  There used to be big browns in this lake, but the state treated it a few years ago to get rid of the spiny rays.  once the browns come back, fish deep, slow and natural.

That is totally wrong. My friend and I caught 2 five pounders (1 a piece), and we shared them with our families, and both fish tasted just fine, and everyone loved them.

You my friend have absolutely no clue about this lake! It has NEVER been treated by the state.....The owner of the Cover does not have a net pen where he raises trips...There are still big browns in the lake.....and the best place is not off the dock or in the cove.....Really the only thing you got right is that trolling black wooly buggers is a great way to catch trout!
