tri cities walleye
« on: August 01, 2012, 08:16:08 AM »
Looks like guys are fishing mouth of the snake river hard for them. Anyone having any luck? Every morning it looks like there's at least 10 boats out there on my way to work.  So someone is catching something.

Was out there Sunday, not fishing for walleye, but there was a good number of boats out there.  Never saw anyone hook anything but did see a guys stringer that had 3 small fish on it.

I love walleye, so tasty!
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!

Lot of fishing boats launching from hood park today. My guess is they're catching them on blade baits  :dunno: if I remember right where they are fishing is about 18-20 ft deep, mud bottom and sea weedy

half of those guys out there don't know what a blade bait is :chuckle:

water is warm enough that there is a pretty goor plug bite right now.... that and harnesses. And yes, they're biting.

If you head out, watch for me, I'll be the one with a 2 year old that keeps throwing his rod in the water :chuckle:

I usually launch at Martindale... I'll be in a little 14ft white smoker craft w/ a merc or a WSU colored 21ft Ranger w/ an E-tec.

how about you?

Thinking about heading out there tomorrow.  Not sure how to catch these things, but willing to try.  Will be in a 18.5' center console War Eagle.  Will either put in by the house in Pasco, Maybe hood park or finley depending on if a buddy goes with me.  Come pull up beside me and tell me how to catch these things.

Go into Sportsman's. See if Dave is working the reel counter. He knows a thing or two...

good idea...

just troll a 1oz bottom walker with a smile blade or spinner worm harness in all of the other boats. Troll slow, 1/2 mph faster than the current. Troll plugs upstream, hot lips, hawg boss etc. about 1.5 - 2 mph.
