Alkali Archery Deer Tag
« on: August 14, 2012, 04:02:07 PM »
Hey Guys, I got drawn for an Alkali Archery tag. I just thought I would throw it out there to see if anyone has a good spot that I should definately check while im scouting the next couple weeks. I have only been out there once but live pretty close.

Any tips are appreciated!

Well I suppose I should. I am definately new to the site, just figured out how to ad a picture to my profile. Honestly, didnt even know there was a hunting washington site for the longest time. I am from Moses Lake, been there scouting a bit. Seenm several nice bucks but no shooters as of yet. I guess I'll see what i find this weekend.

Opening morning of my hunt in 2010 I found myself 100 yards from a six by six 28 inch wide, 185 inch buck... But. Couldnt close the distance.  There are nice bucks out there but it's not easy with a bow

well that's just a field judging guess, He had a decent size head and when his ears were fully out (assuming 22" across) his antlers were about three inches out from there on each side

Yeah I saw several bucks in there (TA8), I think 10 in all some on the south slopes and some in Cold Creek. Saw Elk in cold creek and Lumma creek.

Liked the look of Lumma creek on the scout but didnt see much for deer. Never made it to the badger pocket but heard that is worth looking at.

Badger pocket holds alot of deer but I never saw any big bucks there just decent ones

This is the buck I settled on, not the biggest but for my first archery buck in the sage brush I was happy with it.

I like 4,5,6,7,8,10 myself.   Never seen a good buck in Badger pocket.  Heard people talk about them, but never seen them.

I love that area.   It's just my kind of terrain.
