Circular polarizers

Does anyone use them? How do you like them? I just ordered one to try out.

I use them sometimes just to darken up the sky.

That is my goal with it. More contrast with clouds and the main subject.

i have one and use it a fair amount, mainly for landscapes helps to darken the sky to a deeper blue, make clouds more pronounced, cuts the glare off of water and it helps to make the scene look more saturated with color and it helps to cut through the "haze" that can be hanging around in the air.

Very cool pics. I have the same lens that I bought it for but a much cheaper polarizer. Hope it works ok. This newish hobby gets expensive quick.

I was on top of Mt. Pilchuck a few weekends ago and the haze was pretty bad. I got some decent photos but I would have liked to have the polarizer then to see the difference. I got to the top too late also and the sun was to high by then (9:30).

True, but if you buy pre owned lenses you won't lose much down the road if you need to sell. Like any hobby, the initial cost is tough but once the investment is made its pretty cheap to play.

Thats probably the route I will go.
Just gotta decide on which lens should be my next.
