what would you do?
« on: September 03, 2012, 09:59:34 PM »
well have a choice to make..
1st hunt elk behind the house, they move a lot and I have not had the time with the remodel to pattern them yet, also have not had any answers from trying to call them two days ago. Any elk area, late elk as well. Bonus of possible bear tag fill as well
2nd go to where I know there are a few elk, 30 mins from the house. Down fall of this is with all the rigs I've seen this weekend heading that way it is sure to be a battle ground.Any bull area, late elk as well. Bonus of possible bear tag fill as well
3rd a new spot, owners just invited me to hunt yesterday about 2 hours from the house, checked it out today sign was all a week old which matches up to when the owners said they were there last, and again no answers to calls made during my two hour hike. Last of tracks and some majorly beat down trails, but once again everything seems to be last used a week ago. Any elk area, no late elk. Bonus possible mule deer

well after doing a drive threw of #2 tonight... I'm hitting number three tomorrow afternoon (since owners report mainly seeing elk in evening)  hoping for at least fresh sign that they are still moving through the area.
