Frustrated with Closings......
« on: September 06, 2012, 11:23:45 PM »
I scouted GMU 510 for the past few months, planning on  hunting muzzy..I live in Puyallup and wanted something an hour or so. I went up to scout on Monday and it was closed to all recreational use..Really bummed out.. I worked hard in there. Trying to find another spot last minute.. Im going to scout 627 tomorrow..I am lost, Im from the east coast and its my first year hunting here. I give you guys allot of credit.
I would be willing to give Personal training services, general labor, Hunting or fishing info in Maine (hunt my Parent private land) for some advice..

Yes hunting public land out here can suck, I went out yesterday only to find out that have the places that I hunt that the access roads have been dug out or people buying and posting the property. On the up side I did see a nice little dandy buck yesterday morning about 7am ranged it at 164 yards, walked up to 120 yards when I last saw it. Didn't spook it, though he just moved on. going to try and get em again today.
Sixty4nhalf is not my age but the year of my Mustang.

It's even worse for those of us that bought the Hancock timber company permits. I spent $225 and I still can't get in yet.

In the past they have kept it closed until just before modern deer season. :twocents:

Nope. When it rains the signs will come down and people with passes will be allowed back in. Had the pass long before it was Hancock and its always closed when real dry and re opens with rain. Nothing to do with hunting seasons. Simple....Pray for rain to end your pain.

Hunt the back country and you'll never have to worry about it.

It might be frustrating but just imagine how frustrating it would be for the land owner if some irresponcible person started a fire. Especially on timberlands when they have to watch their investment burn. Don't get me wrong i'm as frustrated as anyone I have 2 different hancock permits and I hunt Weyerhauser land. Just trying to add some perspective...
