Taneum Herd Sept 9, 2012
« on: September 10, 2012, 06:22:16 PM »
Well I struck out last weekend got pretty close on Friday Morning prob with 50 yards of some elk in the timber but couldnt get a visual. We jumped a few Huuuuge friggin bulls too but no bull tag, not to mention while i was driving in Thursday night i had what was either a 7x8 or 7x7  MONSTER BULL step out in front of my little chevy that made me squeal the breaks and also marvel and fumble with my phone frantically to get a pic but he scattered after a few seconds of staring me down.  Any how heres a few herd pics from Saturday evening i counted 34 cows and 1 bull that looked liked a 5x6 or bigger.

So heres a few pics and a video i took from about 125 yards away with the phone so sorry for the poor quality. i circled him in the pics and in the video he is in the center at the start.

One last note. they are super quiet right now. But based on how the bulls were acting especially this one which isnt seen in the short video makes me believe they are only days away from being in the RUT! So it should start heating up for those sticking with it!!

This guy was pushing the girlies around quite a bit and had his mouth open for a bit as well!!

Not having a baby! Got a 2 going on 3 yr old and that's enough for me and the wife! It has something to do with elk. The second word is elk the first word starts with a w.

Nope. it's a tough one. My hunting partner called this herd this name and I had never heard it before so I thought it was pretty hilarious for the few days we made it up there.

Hahaha. Welfare elk!  Yep, living off the State just like many others.  Free food, free housing and police protection, how could they go wrong?  Hahaha LOL :chuckle:
