The muzzy tag holders should receive info on access points this next week. I wonder if it will be a blank piece of paper. :chuckle:

The packet just has a letter saying Wyco lands are closed now but may open. All the Wyco access rules and contact info, and a map where Wyco reports browsing damage. And a picture of some Wyco signs. It also says the start to the 2500 is private.
Mine arrived thursday.

Same thing I got for my Winston permit. I think it also arrived in my mailbox on Thursday.

Really they could have saved the postage, it didn't tell me anything I didn't already know.

Regarding the start of the 2500, does anyone know if they will be allowing access through that gate? I was told last year that they had volunteers at the gate allowing permit holders to drive through. I just came in through another road off 504 that tied into the 2500 but after dark I tried to just take the mainline back out and it was gated with no one around. I know I'm not the only one this happened to.

Fingers crosses for you muzzy tag holders, I have faith it will open.

The packet wasnt clear to me. It stated the begining of 2500 was private and citations would be issued, but then said something of volunteers manning gates...... Sorry cant remember the exact verbage and dont have it with me now.. It left me wondering though.........

There will be plenty of land open... IF you look at a map, and are willing to get away from the road and hike..  There is more to the Margaret Unit than the Weyco land...

and that is all I will say about this subject...

Enough already!  Let's make that your final word ;) :chuckle:

I also wondered about the 2500 road. I almost thought about trying to drive up it but didn't want to get kicked out. But we figured out how to access it from the top so its not too big a deal if it is closed. More to margret than weyco? I guess I better study my maps a little closer. I would love to get into somewhere I can have my little elk hunt without running into other hunters. I hate sitting in a clear cut and having someone else come tromping through. I also feel horrible when I stumble on other hunters spots. Hopefully the rain comes because I would like to have a look at some of those roads up there!
