Looking for a good butcher around south king county area
« on: September 21, 2012, 04:41:05 PM »
I'm trying to find a good butcher in the south king county area for deer season. I like pepperoni sticks and some breakfast sausage to go with my steaks and hamburger. I used to use Green Valley and really liked them but they have stopped. I have used B and E meats over the years and their pretty good but are reallllllllly spendy. Anyone have any ideas around Auburn, Enumclam, south king county area. Thanks.

I just my elk back from Rainier Taxidermy & Game Processing in Roy. Zach and James did an awesome job.

I know this is not south King county, but worth the travel from Auburn area. I traveled from Kitsap county.

I've had pepperoni made by Doug's Quality Meats in Kent and he does a fantastic job.

Olsons on the auburn/enumclaw hwy about 2 miles west of Enumclaw, I know a ton of people that use those guys to process their kills. Majority of the comments I hear are good too, had a buddy that worked for them through high school said it was a cool place.

I use "The Smoke House" in Black Diamond.  I only use him for pepperoni and jerky but he'll do everything.  I process the animal myself.  Great Guy and has the best pep I've ever had.

Just up Hwy 18 from Green Valley meat is Linds meats.  I have used them for awhile for my families deer and elk.  Last year did 3 deer in all pepperoni, breakfast sausage, jerky and loved it all.  I plan on taking my families deer and elk there again this year.

Don't most butchers in King county specialize in lettuce and carrots?  :chuckle:

I think Doug's in Kent has closed or moved. I've happily used Lind's for 20 years. Is the smoke house in Black diamond where Curt works? Heard good things about their stuff.

+1 on Linds meats. Went there for years until i moved. He is the only butcher i know of that you are garanteed to get your own deer back. Just be warned ,it better be clean or Mike will give you an ear full....

Thought the guys name was Bill, but hell I can't remember my kids names most of the time.  I know it's right down from the Bakery.  Also try his Chorizo, best I've ever had and I grew up in south central Cal with lots of great Mexican food.  Great dish for hunting and easy to make with eggs and tortilla's

I have used LINDS all my life and same with everyone i know. They do such good work. Plus they use every inch of meat possible off your deer/elk etc. They will make you whatever, however. Great guys in that shop. Mike and Paul both take pride in what they do there.  Spin05 said it well Try and keep it clean.
This is the year im going to get drawn, i can feel it. NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED, NOT SELECTED... damn :(

Both Mike and Paul are excellent!! If you ever get a bear get their sweet-hot jerky  And yea Mike turned my elk away once, wasn't very dirty in my humble opinion but they had a full cooler and it did have some pine needles on it. From then on we've made sure it's super clean.
