First bear

Well after several years I finally got one.  Not a big one.  He was wounded 2 days before by another hunter.  I helped this hunter track down bear twice before dark but he couldnt close the deal.  He said he would come back in morning but didnt.  I waited the whole day and nothing.  The second day I tracked him down and finished him.  He was shot in small int.  Poor guy.  Dont know if I can trust the meat but he will make a nice lil rug.

Dang, this was one of those cringe at beginning and sigh of relief stories. I hate hearing stories about people not finding wounded game. I'm glad you were able to take care of it and get a nice bear rug out of the deal as well. Congrats on the bear and kudos on the follow up of that bear

Thanks alot.  It was hard not going after it and waiting for hunter to return.  I dont understand why somebody would just walk away from wounded animal.  He was a young guy but seemed to be a great guy.  I missed a 45yard downhill shot on a very large bear a few days before so this redemption felt pretty good.  Archerys tuff when that darn buck fever kicks in.
