Shout out to Knives of Alaska
« on: September 25, 2012, 08:02:47 AM »
So, I've got two sets of these knives. Each set has my favorite knife in it....the little cub or something like that. It is very small yet cuts big and is very versatile. The other two knives are a skinner with a short, fat, sweeping edge with a gut hook and and a big mean butcher style knife. I've used them for about 5 years and really like these knives. While working on a members bear I did something stupid taking the tooth out and snapped the tip off. It was a tiny amount of the blade and I figured it could be sharpened and saved. My second set I did the same damn thing to my other little cub while working on a wrist joint. The other two knives had some wear and tear but nothing like that.

I contacted KOA to confess and ask if they would consider looking at them and seeing if they could be salvaged. The lady I talked to said to just send them down and they would probably replace them under warranty. I said that I appreciate that but it is my fault. Nope, she says we are KOA and your knives are covered for life. I sent both sets down, they replaced the two with the snapped tips, sharpened and honed the other two, and shipped them back within two weeks. Total cost out of pocket for me was $20.00.

 I've got the elk hunter. Love the knife, been considering picking up another of theirs. And a great warranty too.

I have their Alpha Wolf.  It seems like a great knife, but it still has not seen blood.  Thanks for the warranty feedback.
